Image My son loves to go shooting with me. But it seems he has out grown his current bow. He wants to shoot a traditional recurve like his dad but we are having trouble find one. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe

Image How old is he? What kind of length and weight are you looking for? MadDog archery makes a great kids bow, my 7yo has one of his Pup recurves and loves it. Go to www.maddogarchery.com and take a loot.

Hope this helps a bit,

I have a couple of the Bear Cubs that may work for your son. Send me an email and we can get together and see if he can handle one of them.

Image Thanks for the website tip.
He is 8. His school and Scouts offer compound bow shooting but he wants to stay traditional like his Dad. Thanks again I'll check it out.

I started making recurve bows a couple of years ago and have a couple of bows that did not turn out at the pull weight I had hoped for.  What weight are you looking for?  I should mention that they are 66" recurves.  I have one at 26# at 28", and am working on one right now that is going to be 28-29# at 28".

Image 2ND RESPONSE:  I read farther in the forum and discovered your sone is 8.  I think 26 lbs would be a little much not to mention the 66" length would not work. Sorry.  I do have one that will be about 19 lbs if I finish it but it too is 66".

I have several longbows (no recurves) that would work for an 8 year old archer.  I am also giving one away if you sign up for my email list.  Check it out at http://www.WoodlandArchery.com

Hope that helps.
